Tournament Canceled
Due to concerns over COVID 19, our 2020 Golf Tournament has been canceled.
More on our decision
Every year, we look forward to connecting with family and friends at the Mary Etta Helms Memorial Golf Tournament to raise funds in the fight against ovarian cancer. But with current concerns and restrictions around COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person golf tournament.
This tournament has become something larger than just a fundraiser. It is a time for our family to come together with old and new friends. The event is the heartbeat of our family, because each year I get to see the people my mother loved so much working hard with smiling faces and friendly words. So we are deeply saddened to have made this tough call, but our first priority is safety. We want to make sure we can see you all again soon!
We remain committed in the very important fight against ovarian cancer. We expect to raise at least $10K with the annual golf tournament. The loss of this year’s in-person event means a very real loss of funding to Duke Cancer Institute’s critical ovarian cancer research. I hope you’ll consider making a tax deductible donation to the Mary Etta Helms Foundation this year even though we can’t be together in person. Your gift is important and WILL make a difference.
I would like to personally thank everyone who has taken the time for golf and fellowship. Also, big thank yous to the family and friends who run this event and bring joy to the memory of my mother.
See you all again soon.
